We try to keep life at MediLodge of Monroe as much like home as possible. When someone is admitted, we ask lots of questions so that we can learn about their lifestyle and preferences—from when they like to get up in the morning, what they enjoy doing during the day, to when they usually go to bed at night. Working together, we create a plan for daily activities that’s as unique as each individual.
Here are some of the things our residents like to do:
Take a walk around our beautiful courtyard |
Visit with grandchildren, friends, family, and neighbors |
Work on their favorite hobbies |
Attend church services regularly |
Listen to live music with family and friends at an
in-house concert |
Enjoy special events like our Valentine’s Day Ball, Senior Olympics, and Senior Prom |
Learn to use computers, surf the Internet,
and exchange e-mail |
For some people, there is a misconception that a stay in a nursing home is boring, lonely, and institutional. Working with our residents, their friends, and families, we do our best to make sure it’s not.

Our residents enjoy getting out of the building to attend local events, going out for lunch, or just picking up a few things at the store. We provide our van to transport them…and they provide the ideas about where they’d like to go. Here are just a few of our residents’ favorite things to do:
Shop at the local mall |
Attend Detroit Tigers baseball games |
Check out the Monroe County Fair |
Listen to music at an outdoor performance at St. Mary’s Park |
Take a day trip to local restaurants |
Enjoy a performance at the theater |
